Where?
ChacaLit Festival will take place in Chacala, on the Riviera Nayarit, with workshops spreading to surrounding rural towns and the Residence Program will be based in the private development of Marina Chacala next to the bay of Chacalilla.
Our nearest airport is Puerto Vallarta & there are frequent bus services from Guadalajara, Mexico City & Puerto Vallarta that stop at nearby Las Varas.
Chacala is a port town whose only industries are fishing and tourism. It has had a Clean Beach certificate for 4 years because of the quality of the bay's water and the efforts of local residents to maintain the pristine character of its soft yellow sand. Visitors to the community have helped educational opportunities develop for local children over the last 20 years and there is a mutual desire to ensure sustainability and make sure local people benefit from the advent of tourism.
